Advanced Parenting Coordination (14 Hours) (RML-TRNG008)


Description

Designed for those students who have completed a 14-hour Basic Parenting Coordination course, this advanced-level workshop focuses on building practical skills for offering excellent PC service and effectively managing the tensions and challenges inherent in PC practice.


Using a combination of recorded lectures, interviews and demonstrations, PowerPoint presentations, case studies, readings and resources, tests, assignments and live tutorials for discussion, role play, coaching and feedback, topics include:


Topics include:

• Research, protocols and literature from around the world, including:

- Impact of separation and conflict on children: why does conflict harm children?

- Trauma and resilience

- Factors that impact outcomes for children

- High conflict tools and strategies

- Motivational interviewing

- Skills for navigating the PC process vs skills for behavioural change

- Arbitral vs non-arbitral procedures: limitations and opportunities from various jurisdictions

• Strategies for managing and moving matters forward efficiently while remaining neutral

• File management tips

• Coached role plays and small group discussions demonstrating the progression of both ‘simple’ and ‘complex’ PC issues, from start to finish.
